Mounting-Mirror-Tape

1. Surface Preparation
The surface should be dry, oil-free, and dust-free. Clean the areas to be taped thoroughly beforehand using clean cloths and appropriate cleaning agents. Porous surfaces such as loose plaster, flaking paint, etc., must be pre-treated accordingly, e.g., with diluted clear lacquer or primer.

2. Temperature
Pay attention to minimum temperatures. When applying adhesive tapes and films, the ambient temperature should generally not be below room temperature.

3. Application
Avoid touching the adhesive surfaces with your hands. Press down firmly after application. For double-sided adhesive tapes, carefully remove the protective liner. Consider the surface texture - rough surfaces usually have lower initial adhesion. Always perform a test application first!

Rule of Thumb for Test Application
If the tape should be removable without residue, apply the tape to the intended surface and remove it abruptly after a period of time (preferably overnight). Always perform test applications in inconspicuous areas.

4. Removal
Remove the tape slowly - do not pull it off abruptly. Pay attention to minimum temperatures and the longest possible adhesion period. As a general rule, do not leave the tape applied longer than absolutely necessary. For outdoor use, be aware of unusual weather conditions.

5. Storage
Store adhesive tapes in their packaging at room temperature (20 °C / 68 °F) and at a relative humidity of 60% for no longer than 6 months. Keep open boxes and partially used rolls dry and clean. Protect from sunlight and UV exposure.

7. Caution with Adhesion on Wood
Wood is a challenging surface! Wood fibers may lift when the tape is removed abruptly. Please perform tests and remove any tape used on wood slowly.

8. Caution with Adhesion on Plastics
Plasticizers may migrate when tapes are applied to plastics, possibly leading to adhesive residues and/or discoloration of the plastic. Always carry out test applications for the intended duration.

9. Caution with Adhesion on Soft and Porous Surfaces
Soft and porous surfaces such as softwood, plaster, and fresh paint may be damaged by the adhesive.

10. Caution with Adhesion on Stains and Water-Based Paints
Be cautious with stains and water-based paints. The plasticizers in the adhesive may damage the surface, e.g., by peeling it off.

11. Caution with Adhesion on Aluminum, Copper, Zinc, and Other Metals
Chemical reactions may lead to adhesive residues and/or discoloration.

12. Caution with Adhesion on Natural Stone and Marble
We generally advise against applying tape to natural stone or marble, as this may cause permanent discoloration, shadowing, or adhesive residue.
